§ 22-109. Police department.

(a)

There is hereby created the Shavano Park Police Department, which shall be operated as a departmental function of the City and shall provide 24-hour police protection for the City in accordance with Tex. Local Government Code § 341.001, etc.

(b)

The Police Department shall be headed by a Chief of Police who shall be selected by the City Manager and approved by the City Council. Such employee may be terminated by the City Manager with consent of City Council.

(c)

The Chief of Police shall receive such salary or compensation as may be fixed by the City Council.
